Question: Is my Shutoff Unit weather resistant?

Answer: No, the TripleGuard Integrated Shutoff unit is for indoor use only

Question: Are the batteries provided with my Shutoff Unit?

Answer: Yes. The unit is provided with 2 x CR123

Question: How frequently should I replace the batteries of my Shutoff Unit?

Answer: The battery life of the Shutoff unit is of 2 years based on opening/closing twice a day 5 days a week.

Question: What tools do I need to open the battery case of my Shutoff Unit?

Answer: You will need a Phillips screwdriver.

Question: Do I need to drill or install any specific part to install my Shutoff Unit?

Answer: Depending on your existing installation, you may need specific alterations. Check with your professional installer .

Question: How many Shutoff Units do I need?

Answer: You need to install one Shutoff unit on each main water pipe.

Question: Do I need a professional installer to install my Shutoff Unit?

Answer: In most cases, you will need to call for a professional installer to install and synchronize the Shutoff unit.

Question: Do I need an electrician to connect my Shutoff Unit?

Answer: No, the Shutoff unit is fully battery-operated and thus there is no need to call an electrician

Question: I cannot rotate manually the handle of my Integrated Shutoff Unit.

Actuator

Question: How can I manually operate the closing and opening of the valve already installed?

Answer: Please remove the actuator from the valve by sliding the safety pin out and pulling the actuator up.
Use the key (included in the kit) to manually close or open the valve.

Question: Why is my Actuator not responding?

Answer:

1. You may need to replace the batteries. To check the batteries level, go to your app and check level.
2. The Device may not communicate properly with the HUB. Make sure that there is not a metal cabinet which interfere between the HUB and the device.

Question: Where is the best location to place my Actuator?

Answer: Place your Actuator on the main water pipe line.

Question: Is my Actuator weather resistant?

Answer: Yes, the TripleGuard Actuator is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Question: What type of batteries should I install in my Actuator?

Answer: The Actuator is provided with 4 x CR123A batteries. Replace the batteries once every four years.

Question: What tools do I need to open the battery case of my Actuator?

Answer: Use a Philips screwdriver to unscrew battery cover. See guide included with the product for full description.

Question: Do I need to drill or mount any specific part to install my Actuator?

Answer: There is no need for trenching or drilling. However, to mount the Actuator you need the valve to be installed by a licensed plumbing contractor to ensure compliance with local codes. Refer to this guide for installation.

Question: How many Actuators do I need?

Answer: The number of Actuators needed depends on the number of existing incoming water pipe line. You need one Actuator on each water pipe line.

Question: Do I get statuses about my Actuator on my app?

Answer: Yes, you can see the status of your Actuator Open/close through the mobile app.

Question: Do I need a professional installer to install my Actuator?

Answer: RectorSeal, LLC recommends that all its valves be installed by a licensed plumbing contractor to ensure compliance with local codes.

Question: Do I need an electrician to connect my Actuator?

Answer: No! The Actuator is battery-operated therefore there is no need to call upon an electrician.

Question: Will my Actuator still work in case of a power outage?

Answer: Yes, since your Actuator is battery-operated, it will still work in case of a battery outage.

 


HUB

Question: Where is the best location to place my HUB?

Answer: Place the HUB in a central location at equal distance from all the devices installed.  You will need an access to a power outlet and internet as well.

Question: Is my HUB weather resistant?

Answer: The HUB is not weather resistant. Install your HUB indoor in a dry location.

Question: What type of batteries should I install in my HUB?

Answer: Install 2 x AA batteries provided with the HUB. In case of power failure, the batteries will keep the HUB operational for 8 hours. It is advised to replace the batteries after  a power failure.

Question: How frequently should I replace the batteries of my HUB?

Answer: It is recommended to replace the batteries once every two years.

Question: How many HUB do I need?

Answer: You will need one HUB per system. A system includes up to 29 devices installed in one location.

Question: Do I get statuses about my HUB on my app?

Answer: Yes, you will be able to check the status of your HUB at any given time through the TripleGuard App. In addition to receive notifications, you can control your HUB  and sending commands as well.

Question:  Do I need to install an App to control my HUB?

Answer: Yes, you need to download  the TripleGuard free App

Question: Do I need an electrician to connect my HUB?

Answer: No, you can easily connect the HUB by yourself.

Question: Will my HUB still work in case of a power outage?

Answer: Yes, your HUB will be fully operational for up to 8 hours in the case of a power failure. It is recommended to replace the batteries at the end of the power failure. In normal conditions, replace the batteries once every two years.

Question: Is my HUB cloud-based?

Answer: Yes, your HUB will communicate directly with the TripleGuard

 

Water Leak Detector

Question: Why is my Water Leak Detector not responding?

Answer: 1. You may need to replace the batteries. To check the batteries level, go to your app and check level.
2. The Device may not communicate properly with the HUB. Make sure that there is not a metal cabinet which interfere between the HUB and the device.

Question: Why do I need a Water Leak Detector?

Answer: The system detects a water leak through the water leak detector which sets the trigger for the closing of the shutoff unit.

Question: Where is the best location to place my Water Leak Detector?

Answer: Install one water flood leak detector in each location where there is a water outlet (bathroom, kitchen, Ice maker, laundry room…)

Question: Is my Water Leak Detector weather resistant?

Answer: No, you must install the Flood indoor.

Question: Are the batteries provided with my Water Leak Detector?

Answer: Yes, Water Leak Detector come with all needed equipment including 2 x AAA batteries.

Question: How frequently should I replace the batteries of my Water Leak Detector?

Answer: You should replace the batteries every 2 years, or when you receive a notification regarding the battery level

Question: What tools do I need to open the battery case of my Water Leak Detector?

Answer: There is no need for tools. To open the battery case, just slide the cover up and unveil the battery case.

Question: Do I need to clean my Water Leak Detector?

Answer: After a leak was detected, use a soft dry cloth to clean the probe.

Question: How many Water Leak Detectors do I need?

Answer: You will need one water flood sensor  for each location where there is a water outlet (bathroom, kitchen, Ice maker, laundry room…)

Question: Do I get statuses about my Water Leak Detector? on my app?

Answer: Yes, you will get statuses and be able to control your system from the  App

Question: Will my Water Leak Detector still work in case of a power outage?

Answer:  Yes, since the water flood sensor is battery operated, it will fully functioned even in the case of a power failure.

Question: Where is the best location to place my Water Leak Detector?

Answer: You will need one water leak detector  for each location with a water outlet (bathroom, kitchen, Ice maker, laundry room…). In order to function properly in case of a flood, the water leak detector’s spacer should touch the floor while the body of the  water leak detector’s body should lean against the wall.
