HOUSTON, TX ? April 28,2009 - Rectorseal Corporation has reached an agreement to include Delta® Deck Plugs from Rock Wool Manufacturing Company as a part of the Rectorseal® line of firestop products.

DELTA® Deck Plugs are precision-cut from non-combustible, UL® classified, high-density mineral fiber DELTA Board. A patented V-grooving technology is used to compress the material into the fluted profile of metal decks found at top-of-wall joints. Plugs are available in three standard sizes to closely match the profiles of the most frequently specified metal decks. They are manufactured in 36? long strips that are easily field-cut to the required length. By cutting each DELTA® Deck Plug to the precise length required, a smooth substrate is formed along the top of the wall for cost-effective application of firestop caulk or spray, in accordance with the manufactuer?s instructions. Flute-shaped DELTA® Deck Plugs reduce the time and labor required to cut, fit, completely fill and compress high-density mineral fiber board into the irregular openings and gaps between tops of walls and metal decking. They also assure inspecting code officials that flutes are completely filled with a UL® classified material.

Rectorseal® firestop products are specifically designed to fill voids in construction joints and around penetrations in fire rated walls or floors. Many of these products have intumescent properties which cause them to expand when heated, forming a high strength insulating char. In the event of fire, firestop sealants will restrict the spread of flames, smoke, hot gases and water through penetration openings and construction joints.
